Bimal presents the main aspects of the Climate Trek

On 10th of October 2 017 Climate Trek Nepal presented its first cooperation message to the DAAD alumni groups who attended an international project seminar on eco-tourism and sustainable development at Park Village Resort in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The seminar was organized by ICIMOD in cooperation with DAAD Alumni group from Germany. 40 DAAD alumni from all over the globe attended the seminar. Main objective of Climate Trek Nepal at the event was to extend the reach and spread the message of the project to many national and international people. The seminar allowed Climate Trek Nepal to shed light on the concept from atmosfair and its idea of the Climate Trek Nepal. The audience learned about how environmentally friendly technologies for are distributed the region to promote the eco-friendly development of the local tourism.

It was very important that representatives of the Government of Nepal, from the Nepal Tourism Board and many environmentalists, scientists and experts joined the seminar to facilitate the idea of sharing best-practices as well as positive and negative effects of ecotourism for a sustainable development. A  special focus was on tourism-induced greenhouse gas emissions, compensation opportunities, wildlife management and nature conservation as well as socio-economic development.

In essence, Climate Trek Nepal expects to develop a national and international network for the promotion of eco-tourism and sustainable development worldwide with to goal of low human impact on nature and a better understanding of relevant topics regarding Climate Change. We would like to thank all participants and we are looking forward to open the Climate Trek Nepal soon!
