The Climate Trek Nepal is a complex project where many different partners work together. Today I’d like to present you one of our strategic partners: Samarth-Nepal Market Development Program (NMDP).

Samarth is a five year DFID-funded rural market development programme supported and overseen by its counterpart, Nepal’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, that aims to reduce poverty in Nepal by increasing incomes of thousands smallholder farmers and small-scale entrepreneurs in different sectors such as tourism, vegetable, ginger, fishery, livestock, pigs, dairy and crops. Not only that, Samarth promotes its interventions in value chain system including supporting the entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers on marketing of their products. More information about Samarth:

atmosfair and Samarth cooperate since 2016 on the Climate Trek Nepal project. Our sustainable tourism project is now part of Samarth’s ‘Great Himalayan Trails’ (GHT) Program ( The ‘Great Himalayan Trails’ is a network of trails in the Nepali Himalayas that connects the very West of Nepal with its very East. The Climate Trek Helambu will soon be bookable as part of the Great Himalayan Trails.

As tourism experts, Samarth’s contribution up to now was very valuable. Samarth contributed architectural expertise via its partner Traditional Hospitality to the Project. Traditional Hospitality provided two prototype designs in order to start reconstruction of the lodges and conducted two design orientation workshops in the field in March 2017. In a later stage Samarth will support the project’s physical implementation through trail auditing, postage and signage, as well as marketing of the Climate Trek Nepal to potential customers.

We are looking forward to a continuous fruitful partnership with Samarth!
