Two key partners of Climate Trek Langtang, atmosfair gGmbH, the implementing partner and Tenjin Eco Treks, the local tour operator just recently conducted a joint kick-off visit in the project cooperation for CTN Langtang. Four representatives, Janine Adler (climate protection project manager) from atmsofair’s office in Berlin, Germany, Bimal B.K. (local project manager for atmosfair), Passang Tamang (CEO of Tenjin Ecot Treks) and Chhime Tamang (Manager at Tenjin Eco Treks) participated in a joint field visit to Langtang. The visit started on February 27th and ended on March 04th, 2020. The visit was only planned for the Langtang region of Nepal, with the five trekking points – Syabrubesi, Sherpaguon, Thangsyap, Mundu and Kyanjin Gompa. The joint team visited all of the five trekking points and some selected lodge owners in the villages.

The field visit had the major aims to obtain realistic and final feasibility of CTN project implementation in Langtang region. During the visit, 8 lodges were assessed by team. The the project is taking off in a good speed. The presence of the assessment team had a great impact on all of the lodge owners to start the reconstructions for their lodges as early as possible.

The great aspect of this CTN Langtang project partnership is the multi-dimensional structure of support for project implementation between the partners. atmosfair gGmbH and Tenjin Eco Trek’s follow a like-minded strategy in eco-tourism which forms the basis of this fruitful partnership.
